War Machine (2017)

War machine (War Machine) is a 2017 American black comedy (political satire) film directed by David Michaud from a screenplay by David Michaud. The film is based on the book The Operators (The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America's War in Afghanistan) by Michael Hastings, published in January 2012. The film premiered in the United States on May 26, 2017.

An absurd war story for our time, recreating the rise and fall of an American general, told partly as reality, partly as parody, making us wonder where the line between the two lies today. At the center of the story is Brad Pitt in the role of the successful, charismatic general who threw himself like a rock star into commanding NATO forces in Afghanistan, only to be brought down by an exposé journalistic story.
