Sauron's forces are growing. His allies are growing. The Ringwraiths return in even more fearsome form. Saruman's Uruk-hai army is ready to launch an attack on Aragorn and the people of Rohan. Already the Fellowship is broken and Boromir is slain.
For the little hope that remains, Frodo and Sam continue their hopeless journey to Mordor, defenseless in the company of their new leader. New allies join Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas, Pippin and Merry. They must defend Rohan and attack Isengard. While all this is happening, Sauron's forces are aimed at Gondor and the war for the One Ring is about to begin.
